In early 1976, Babubhai Naik, Ishwarbhai Patel, Bhupendrabhai, and Hashmukbhai Desai started Navratri at a local motel for around 2-3 years. In 1979, the Navratri program moved to the Whitney Library for approximately 20 years. 

In 1998, Nimesh Patel, Dilip Chohan, and Yatin Daulat got together with Babubhai Naik to get started an organization. Afterwards, they named the organization Las Vegas Gujarati Samaj.
